Peak of Lebaran 2026 Return Traffic: Toll Road Density Data Towards Jakarta
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Lebaran 2026 return traffic has begun to show a significant increase towards Jabodetabek. Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad recorded a surge in vehicle volume since Monday (23/3/2026). The total number of vehicles returning to Jabodetabek through four toll gates reached 184,947 units. This figure rose 33.83 percent compared to normal traffic of 138,196 vehicles. The highest increase occurred at GT Cikunir 6 towards Jakarta with 19,644 vehicles, or a 194.82 percent jump from normal conditions. Meanwhile, GT Cikupa recorded 47,875 vehicles, up 10.63 percent from normal volume. In the West Java region, vehicles leaving Bandung and Rancaekek towards Jakarta reached 78,734 units. This number increased 38.78 percent compared to normal conditions. Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, stated that vehicle volume is predicted to remain high until H+4 Lebaran or Wednesday (25/3/2026). “Traffic is expected to remain elevated as a combination of return flows, tourism, and social visits,” he said in an official statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026). Road users are advised to prepare for their journeys by ensuring the vehicle’s condition and the driver’s physical fitness are in top shape.
