Peak of Eid Exodus 2026 Occurs Today
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The peak of the Eid al-Fitr exodus for 2026 is estimated to occur on Wednesday (18/3/2026). Road users are urged to anticipate a surge in vehicle volumes with thorough journey planning. “Jasa Marga predicts that the peak of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus will occur today, Wednesday, 18 March 2026, so road users need to anticipate the increase in vehicle volumes with careful journey planning,” said Rivan in an official statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026). To assist with smooth travel, road users are asked to make use of real-time traffic information. This is important so that those travelling home can choose the best times and routes. “Therefore, we urge road users to plan their journeys well by utilising real-time traffic information through the Travoy app as well as broadcasts on Radio Travoy FM, so that the journey can proceed more smoothly, safely, and comfortably,” said Rivan. There are four sections prepared, namely the Tol Solo–Yogyakarta–NYIA Kulon Progo, Tol Probolinggo–Situbondo–Banyuwangi, Tol Jakarta–Cikampek II Selatan (Japek II Selatan), and Tol Yogyakarta–Bawen. The presence of these functional lanes has received a positive response from the public, as seen from the increasing volume of vehicles passing through. Meanwhile, to handle the return flow, Jasa Marga is also preparing the operation of the functional lane on Tol Jakarta–Cikampek II Selatan as an alternative to ease traffic density.
