Peak of Eid Exodus 2026 in Nagreg Predicted for Tonight
The peak of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming traffic on Jalan Raya Nagreg in West Java is predicted to occur today (19/3). Eric Alam Prabowo, spokesperson for the Bandung Regency Transportation Agency, stated that H-2 Eid last year showed the highest surge, a pattern expected to repeat this year.
“Vehicle numbers will increase or remain stable until midnight, with the peak homecoming flow likely on H-2 Eid,” he said in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday (19/3).
According to him, congestion has occurred at several points in Nagreg but has been resolved by officers.
Based on data from the Bandung Regency Transportation Agency, the volume of vehicles passing through until 12:00 WIB reached 89,474 vehicles, or about 65% of the total 24-hour vehicles from the previous day, which was 137,032 vehicles.
Meanwhile, the total vehicles crossing the Nagreg route eastward has reached 272,255 units since H-7 Eid.
“If the vehicle graph continues to increase or stabilise until tonight, the peak homecoming flow is likely tonight,” he said.
The public is urged to take advantage of free homecoming programmes, especially for those intending to return to their hometowns using two-wheeled vehicles.
Homecoming by motorbike, he said, is more risky, especially if the travel distance is long.
