Peak Mudik Flow Predicted in Two Waves; Cianjur Police Traffic Unit Prepares for Vehicle Congestion
The peak flow of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday travel (mudik) in the jurisdiction of Cianjur Police, West Java, is predicted to occur in two waves. The Traffic Unit of Cianjur Police has already anticipated the surge in vehicle volume.
Ajun Komisaris Aang Andi Suhandi, Head of Traffic Unit at Cianjur Police, stated that the first wave of peak mudik flow will occur on Saturday (14/3) and Sunday (15/3). The second wave is estimated to occur on Wednesday (18/3) and Thursday (19/3).
“Based on the results of inter-sector national coordination meetings, this year’s Eid holiday mudik flow will occur in two waves,” said Aang on Monday (16/3).
In addition to mudik flow, Aang said the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit is also anticipating a surge in return traffic (arus balik). The peak return flow is estimated to occur from Tuesday (24/3) to Sunday (29/3).
“This coincides with the end of the joint holiday and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah leave period. We must also anticipate this return flow,” he explained.
Aang acknowledged that during return traffic, Cianjur Police will continue with enhanced routine activities. The objective is to ensure security during the Eid return traffic period.
“The peak of the densest return flow is predicted to occur on 28-29 March 2026,” Aang emphasised.
Aang noted that traffic engineering efforts, especially for tourist vehicles during the Eid holiday and joint leave period, are situational in nature. This means Cianjur Police will await the situation and conditions in the jurisdiction of Bogor Police, which is predicted to be crowded with tourists, particularly in the Puncak area and surroundings.
“We are monitoring conditions in Bogor Police jurisdiction. If one-way traffic is implemented there, we will certainly conduct outreach to the public to prevent vehicle congestion and traffic jams,” concluded Aang.
