Management of the Type A Jatijajar Terminal in Depok City, West Java, has reported a highly significant increase in passengers during the peak of the 2026 mudik flow ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/Lebaran 2026 celebrations. Operational data indicates that over the past week, the Lebaran 2026 mudik flow through the terminal has surged by up to 100 percent from normal days, from 300 people to 600 people.

The Head of the Type A Jatijajar Terminal, Rafik Hidayat, stated that passengers on inter-city inter-provincial (AKAP) and inter-city within-province (AKDP) buses at the Type A Jatijajar Terminal have experienced an increase during the 2026 Lebaran mudik flow.

“Based on operational data, Lebaran mudik passengers via the Type A Jatijajar Terminal have increased by up to 100 percent. The rise in passengers has occurred since Saturday (14/3/2026),” he said on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

According to him, this 100 percent increase phenomenon proves the high enthusiasm of Depok City residents in celebrating Lebaran 2026 with their families in their hometowns.

He said that the management of the Type A Jatijajar Terminal has prepared itself to face this passenger surge by increasing fleet capacity and expanding operational services.

“We respond quickly and are committed to providing the best service to passengers who will pass through this main transportation point in Depok City,” he said.

“Staff have been increased to handle various operational aspects, from ticket checks, passenger traffic management, to handling the increased number of carried goods,” he explained.

He explained that they have coordinated with the police and related agencies to ensure the smooth flow of mudik and prevent congestion in the terminal area.

It was stated that the Type A Jatijajar Terminal, as one of the largest transportation facilities in the Depok City area, serves as a real barometer of the dynamics of mudik and return flows during the Lebaran season.

This enthusiasm has a positive impact on the local economy, due to increased buying and selling activities around the terminal and increased income for various parties involved in the transportation ecosystem,” he said.

To anticipate potential problems that may arise due to this passenger surge, he explained that the city government and terminal management continue to conduct real-time monitoring and evaluation.

Mudik travellers are urged to prepare themselves thoroughly, including buying Lebaran 2026 mudik tickets early, understanding health protocols, and carrying luggage wisely to avoid adding to the operational burden. (H-3)
