Lebak — Peak homecoming traffic at Mandala Bus Terminal in Lebak Regency, Banten is expected to occur on 17-18 March or H-4 to H-3 (three to four days before) Eid 2026.

The terminal’s head, Muksin, stated on Sunday that the volume of homebound travellers is beginning to increase, particularly those arriving by bus from Jakarta, Tangerang, Bogor and Bandung.

On 17 and 18 March, he said, passenger volumes are expected to peak at between 2,500 to 3,500 people per day.

“Currently, bus and passenger movement is increasing, but has not yet reached its peak,” Muksin said.

He also stated that the terminal has prepared 61 inter-provincial (AKAP) buses with eight routes from five bus companies. These AKAP buses serve routes including Rangkasbitung-Bogor, Kalideres, Tanjung Priok, Bekasi, Bandung, Garut, Cirebon and Kuningan.

Additionally, there are 12 intra-provincial transport (AKDP) buses and 25 rural transport (Angdes) vehicles on standby. The AKDP vehicles serve routes within Banten Province, including Rangkasbitung-Tangerang, Serang, Merak, Bayah, Wanasalam and Labuan.

Rural transport vehicles serve 28 sub-districts in Lebak Regency.

“We urge bus drivers to prioritise the safety of passengers during this homecoming period,” he said.

Mamad, a 55-year-old bus driver serving the Rangkasbitung to Kalideres route, said travel has become busy with homebound travellers starting from today, with a notable surge in passenger numbers also observed on the return journey from Kalideres to Rangkasbitung.
