Peak Exodus on Pejagan-Pemalang Toll Road Predicted for 18 March, One-Way Schedule Announced
As the 2026 Eid exodus season approaches, toll road operators are finalising strategies to ensure smooth traffic flow. The Pejagan-Pemalang toll route is expected to experience a significant surge in vehicles beginning in mid-March 2026. To prevent congestion, a one-way traffic scheme has been officially implemented.
This announcement was made by Tri Yuharlina, Chief Executive of PT Pejagan Pemalang Toll Road (PPTR), to journalists at the Adiwerna toll gate in Tegal, Central Java, on Thursday, 12 March. She was accompanied by PPTR Director Samsul Chari and Operations Manager Uum Jumadi.
“Intensive coordination with police authorities has been conducted to establish the traffic management schedule,” said Tri Yuharlina. “All preparations have been completed, and we have coordinated with police to ensure the safety of road users.”
According to Tri Yuharlina, the one-way exodus traffic scheme will commence on 17 March at 12:00 PM. She predicted that peak exodus traffic would occur on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, coinciding with three days before Eid. At this point, vehicle volumes from Jakarta heading towards Central Java are expected to reach their peak.
“In total, the volume of vehicles passing through this section during the 2026 exodus season is projected to reach 1.173 million units, an increase of 1.73% compared to the same period last year,” Tri Yuharlina stated.
Despite the increased vehicle load, the toll road operator has assured that the asphalt and supporting facilities are in prime condition. To prevent congestion at rest areas, officials have urged exodus travellers to purchase food as takeaway rather than dining in-house.
“Use the takeaway service so that vehicle flow within the rest area continues smoothly and avoid spending excessive time at rest stops,” Tri Yuharlina advised.
