Peak Exodus: Cikampek Utama Toll Gate Set to Handle 126,000 Vehicles
Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, announced to journalists at the location on Saturday that the Cikampek Utama toll gate will handle approximately 126,000 vehicles during peak exodus traffic, representing a substantial 300 per cent increase above normal conditions.
Following this traffic forecast, Jasa Marga is awaiting police clearance to implement traffic management measures. “The implementation of one-way or contra-flow systems will depend on the police’s discretion based on real-time traffic parameters on the ground,” she stated.
Based on evaluations from the previous year, Paalo noted that peak exodus traffic typically occurs during evening hours following Iftar. “Therefore, we continue to urge road users to monitor traffic conditions through the Travoy application, enabling them to view toll sections directly via CCTV,” she explained.
For return traffic, the company predicts a peak on 26 March 2026, anticipating approximately 120,000 vehicles travelling from east to west, also representing around 300 per cent above normal traffic levels.
“As a precautionary measure, we are prepared to open Cikampek Utama Toll Gate 8, which has five booths, should it be necessary to facilitate smooth return traffic flow,” Paalo said.
Additionally, the company continues to coordinate with police regarding traffic arrangements, including the possibility of vehicle screening starting from 13 March.
