Peak Exodus Approaches: 1.1 Million Vehicles Pass Through Nusantara Regional Tollways
JAKARTA — PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, through its Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division, recorded an increase in traffic volume across five Nusantara regional tollway sections as the peak Eid al-Fitr 2026 exodus period approached on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
The increase occurred during the period from 10 to 5 days before Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijra, spanning 11-16 March 2026.
“Overall, the total traffic volume recorded reached 1,105,481 vehicles,” said Rivan A. Purwantono, President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, in a written statement on Tuesday, 18 March 2026.
Rivan disclosed that on the Belawan-Medan-Tanjung Morawa tollway section, traffic volume reached 495,624 vehicles, representing a 0.76 per cent increase compared to normal conditions of 491,881 vehicles.
Of this total, 127,317 vehicles were recorded exiting Medan city through the Amplas Toll Gate. “This figure increased by 3.82 per cent compared to normal traffic volume of 122,637 vehicles,” Rivan stated.
On the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi tollway section, 97,506 vehicles passed through, an increase of 6.23 per cent from the normal volume of 91,785 vehicles.
From this data, 31,392 vehicles entered through the Kualanamu Toll Gate from Kualanamu International Airport. Additionally, 33,435 vehicles were recorded heading to Kualanamu Airport through the Kualanamu Toll Gate, a 9.48 per cent increase compared to normal volume of 30,541 vehicles.
On the Balikpapan-Samarinda tollway section, vehicle volume reached 70,783 vehicles, representing a 9.81 per cent increase compared to normal conditions of 64,457 vehicles.
On the Manado-Bitung tollway section, 43,510 vehicles passed through, an increase of 9.37 per cent from normal volume of 39,781 vehicles.
For the Solo-Yogyakarta NYIA Kulon Progo segment between Kartasura and Prambanan, traffic volume recorded 87,184 vehicles.
During the 2026 exodus period, Jasa Marga urged tollway users to prepare their journeys well during the extended Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday period. “Before entering the tollway, ensure that both your vehicle and yourself are in prime condition, with sufficient fuel and e-money balance, and comply with signs and instructions from field officers,” Rivan said.
