Peak Eid Exodus 2026: 17,000 Passengers Crowd Bandung Station

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 2 Bandung predicts the peak of the 2026 Eid exodus to occur today, Wednesday (18/3). A significant surge in passenger volume is already evident at various departure stations in the Daop 2 region.

The Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, stated that this prediction is based on trends in the increase of Eid transportation ticket sales, which reached their highest point today. “We predict that today, Wednesday 18 March 2026, will be the peak of the exodus in the Daop 2 Bandung region. KAI has prepared all services to the maximum to accommodate customer needs,” said Kuswardojo in Bandung, Wednesday (18/3).

Based on data gathered on Wednesday morning, a total of 17,521 customers departed from various stations in the Daop 2 Bandung region. At the same time, the number of arriving passengers in this region is also notably high, reaching 17,181 people.

Cumulatively, he continued, public enthusiasm for Eid 2026 is extraordinary. The total tickets sold up to 18 March amount to 289,196 (over 22 days of operation).

Meanwhile, the total available capacity is 345,840 seats. “The occupancy percentage is 83.6%, with the most popular destinations still being Central Java, East Java, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta,” he said.

The company ensures that all operational aspects, from facilities to human resources, have been fully prepared. In addition, to handle the passenger surge on this peak day, KAI Daop 2 has implemented various mitigation measures.

In addition to adding field staff to assist with services, inspections of infrastructure and facilities are conducted regularly to ensure safety aspects.
