Peak Arrival at Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal Predicted for Sunday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The peak arrival of passengers at the Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal in North Jakarta is predicted to occur on Sunday (29/3) as the Idul Fitri 1447 H/2026 holiday ends and school and office activities resume on Monday (30/3).
“The peak arrivals are predicted for tomorrow Saturday (28/3) and Sunday (29/3) because many school and work activities start on Monday (30/3),” said the Head of Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal, Sandi, in Jakarta on Friday.
Based on observations at the site, hundreds of passengers have been arriving at the Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal in North Jakarta since Friday morning.
By Friday afternoon, 806 passengers had arrived using 78 intercity interprovincial (AKAP) buses.
He said passenger arrivals would continue to increase until Friday evening and night.
Meanwhile, return traffic is still visible with 261 passenger departures from the terminal and 29 buses.
Previously, arrivals at the terminal on Thursday (26/3) recorded 1,527 passengers using 127 buses.
The terminal management together with UP PKB Cilincing also conducted inspections on five AKAP buses used for return transport.
Of the five vehicles inspected, only one bus passed and four vehicles failed the test. Officers have requested bus replacements from the bus company.
In addition, officers also conducted health checks on 14 intercity interprovincial (AKAP) bus drivers, and all drivers were declared healthy and fit to drive.
“Since the post opened on Friday (13/3) until Thursday (26/3), services have been provided to 222 people consisting of drivers and AKAP bus service users,” said the Head of the North Jakarta Health Sub-District Office, Murniasi Hutapea, in Jakarta on Friday.
She explained that the health checks conducted on bus drivers included blood pressure checks, blood sugar, cholesterol, alcohol level tests, and drug tests.
A total of 172 drivers have undergone health checks and 132 people were declared healthy and 54 people were deemed unfit to travel.
“We also treated 36 returnees who experienced minor health problems. The most common complaints from patients were coughs, flu, migraines, and body aches due to fatigue during the journey,” she said.
