Peace-inspiring TV dialog

Peace-inspiring TV dialog

From Media Indonesia

Between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2001 private
television station RCTI aired a dialog with MH Ainun Nadjib (Cak
Nun). This program really gave me peace of mind. Cak Nun called
on all of us to turn to God the Almighty and to be magnanimous.
He said it was no longer time for us to point an accusing finger
in all directions.

Allow me, therefore, to call on all television stations,
privately-owned or state-owned, to frequently air dialogs that
will inspire tranquility in the viewers.

It is really regrettable to see quite a lot of dialogs taking
opposite sides of an issue on TV as these dialogs may provoke
anger, annoyance or disappointment on the part of the viewers,
which includes our national leaders and the political elite, or
trigger riots and street rallies. The result will be greater fear
on the part of the people and the investors.

Let's all introspect and turn to God the Almighty in the hope
that we can all get out of this crisis.
