PDIP Yogyakarta City Supports Rp 5.4 Billion Danais Allocation to Reduce Stunting

The Yogyakarta City branch of PDI Perjuangan supports the allocation of a stunting prevention budget of Rp 120 million per village, sourced from the Special Funds (Danais). This budget is expected to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates in Yogyakarta City.

Eko Suwanto, Chairman of the Yogyakarta City PDI Perjuangan branch, stated that the programme is a continuation of the 2025 stunting prevention efforts, which previously received an allocation of Rp 100 million per village.

“The Yogyakarta City PDI Perjuangan branch supports the budget allocation of Rp 120 million for each village to accelerate stunting prevention,” said Eko in his statement on Friday (8/5/2026).

Eko mentioned that in 2025, the stunting prevention programme with a total budget of Rp 4.5 billion succeeded in reducing stunting rates in Yogyakarta City from 14.6% to 8.4%.

Therefore, he hopes that the additional budget of Rp 5.4 billion in 2026 can further reduce stunting rates to reach the target of 4-5% by the end of the year.

“With Rp 4.5 billion, the stunting rate dropped from 14.6% to 8.4% in 2025. Our hope is that in 2026, with the support of Rp 5.4 billion, the Yogyakarta City Government can work hard to lower the stunting rate again with a target of 4 to 5% by the end of 2026,” he said.

According to Eko, who is also the Chairman of Commission A of the DIY DPRD from the PDIP Faction, the budget is channelled through the Special Financial Assistance (BKK) scheme from Danais. Each village in Yogyakarta City will receive Rp 120 million to implement the accelerated stunting prevention programme.

The programme is carried out through direct interventions in the form of Supplementary Feeding (PMT) based on local food for toddlers and stunting-risk families. The targets of the programme range from prospective brides, pregnant women, to toddlers.

In addition to focusing on stunting prevention, Eko believes that environmental improvements are also an important factor in supporting child growth and development.

“This commitment to stunting prevention must be accompanied by a collective will to create a healthy and good living environment,” he explained.

He added that, besides the Rp 5.4 billion budget for stunting prevention, an additional Rp 2.9 billion is prepared for community-based waste management.

“Rp 65 million is allocated for each village in Yogyakarta City for community-based waste management,” he concluded.
