PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) has strictly prohibited all party members from involvement in business activities or seeking financial benefits from the government’s Makan Bergizi Gratis (Free Nutritious Meals, MBG) programme.

The prohibition is contained in Central Board (DPP) directive number 940/IN/DPP/II/2026 dated 24 February 2026.

“The DPP of PDI Perjuangan instructs all party members across the three party pillars (structural, legislative, and executive) to strictly refrain, whether directly or indirectly, from utilising the MBG programme to seek financial gain or any other form of material benefit,” according to the directive.

PDIP has called upon all its members to uphold integrity and ensure that no abuse of authority occurs that could damage public trust in the party.

Additionally, PDIP members have been asked to oversee the implementation of the MBG programme in their respective regions to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.

“Accurately targeted, transparent, and prioritising public safety and interests,” the directive further stated.

“Any violation of this instruction shall be considered a breach of party discipline and shall be subject to organisational sanctions in accordance with the party’s constitution and bylaws, as well as internal party regulations,” the directive concluded.

Party spokesperson and politician Guntur Romli revealed that the prohibition was issued following concerns that the MBG programme has become a business interest.

“Through this prohibition, the party’s position is very clear. MBG is a government programme for the people, and in its implementation, there must be no commercialisation of this people-oriented programme,” Guntur stated when confirmed on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Guntur added that the prohibition also aims to dismiss allegations by Deputy Head of the BGN Nanik Sudaryati that all political party cadres have MBG operations.

“Therefore, the party prohibits the involvement of PDIP members and cadres in the MBG business,” he said.
