PDIP Sharply Criticises Jokowi's Blusukan: For Gibran's Future in 2029

Politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Guntur Romli, has assessed that the blusukan activities carried out by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), are part of a political campaign for the 2029 elections. According to him, this agenda is aimed at the political interests of Jokowi’s children. Guntur stated that this political campaign also underscores the power ambitions of the Jokowi dynasty. “It is a political campaign for 2029, for the victory of his children. Gibran, who likely will no longer be with Prabowo. And to get PSI, chaired by Kaesang, into parliament. All for the future of his children, Jokowi must work hard,” Guntur said when contacted on Friday (26/6). Guntur recalled that when he was a PDIP party official, Jokowi was assigned as mayor, governor, and president to serve the people. However, Guntur now says Jokowi has become a “servant of the PSI party” who is exploited solely for electoral interests. He believes Jokowi’s political campaign will not impact PDIP. “The proof is that those who have been successfully courted are not from PDI-Perjuangan but from NasDem, Ahmad Ali, Bestari Barus, Rusdie Masse, and others. Other political parties should be more vigilant. And this is also for Gibran’s presidential interests in 2029, not for Prabowo. Because from Jokowi’s own experience, there is no such thing as a vice president serving two terms,” he said. Jokowi began his blusukan in Lampung on Friday (26/6). He is scheduled over three days to attend PSI events and invitations from volunteers and the public in Lampung. Today, Jokowi is scheduled to attend the PSI Regional Coordination Meeting in Tulang Bawang. Afterwards, Jokowi will attend the Elephant Carnival Cultural Parade. Then on Saturday (27/6), Jokowi is scheduled to meet with traditional leaders of Lampung. Jokowi will also have activities at the Transmigration Museum and Bagelen Village. In addition, Jokowi will visit MSMEs in Maliosewu and attend a volunteer event in Lampung. On the third day, Sunday (28/6), Jokowi is scheduled to attend a cultural parade, meet MSMEs, and visit the Nurul Qodiri Islamic Boarding School.
