PDI Perjuangan has symbolically handed over aid raised through mutual cooperation as a form of solidarity with communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara.

The aid was raised through the Soekarno Cup and presented by DPP PDI-P chairman and Soekarno Cup initiator Prananda Prabowo to the chairman of the PDI-P Regional Leadership Council (DPD) for NTT, Yunus Takandewa, in Surabaya on Monday.

The assistance consists of funds amounting to Rp545 million.

The organising committee said that the Soekarno Cup final was not only the culmination of the football competition, but also an opportunity to build awareness and a spirit of mutual cooperation towards communities facing disaster.

On that occasion, Prananda was accompanied by Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi and the chairman of the Soekarno Cup 2026 National Committee, Komarudin Watubun.

The aid represents the concern of the wider Soekarno Cup family for the people of East Nusa Tenggara affected by the earthquake.

This spirit of solidarity is also part of the humanitarian and mutual cooperation values that the Soekarno Cup seeks to foster.

The committee also expressed hope that the assistance would help ease the burden on affected communities, particularly in meeting their needs during the post-disaster response period.

In addition, there was a call to pray for the swift recovery of the victims.

“So it is not only about finding a winner, but tonight all eyes at the Soekarno Cup 2026 are also on our brothers and sisters who have suffered a disaster in NTT. Tonight is a form of solidarity to send prayers to all our families affected by the disaster in NTT,” said the Soekarno Cup 2026 master of ceremonies.

PDI-P Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto said the Soekarno Cup was conceived as a football competition rooted at the grassroots level, because what is being built is not only achievement, but also a culture of discipline and the pursuit of excellence through teamwork.

“PDI Perjuangan lays down a football DNA based on technical football ability, which forms the basis of individual capability and is united through teamwork, complete with the values of sportsmanship and adherence to the rules of the game, as well as dedication to the nation and state,” said Hasto.

In the final match at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya today, the West Java Banteng Team and the Bali Banteng Team competed for the Soekarno Cup 2026 title.

The match concluded the competition series and served as a moment to strengthen brotherhood through football.

Hasto added that the presence of Megawati Soekarnoputri at the final also underscored support for sport as a space to build the character of the younger generation, strengthen unity, and foster a spirit of nationalism.
