PDIP Predicts Megawati Will Attend Pancasila Day Ceremony
PDIP Central Leadership Council Chairman Djarot Syaiful Hidayat predicts that former President Megawati Soekarnoputri will attend the Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony on Monday, 1 June 2026. According to Djarot, PDIP Chairperson Megawati is likely to accept the invitation from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). ‘God willing, she will attend. Please pray she has the time to be there,’ Djarot said during a PDIP technical guidance session for DPRD members in North Jakarta on Saturday, 30 May 2026. The former Jakarta governor added that PDIP will also hold a Pancasila Day ceremony at the party’s school in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta. Therefore, he said, Megawati’s participation can only be confirmed on the day itself. ‘But clearly, the party will hold the Pancasila Day ceremony at the party school on 1 June. We’ll see tomorrow,’ Djarot said. BPIP has invited all former presidents and vice-presidents to attend the Pancasila Day ceremony at Gedung Pancasila Field, Jalan Taman Pejambon, Jakarta, on Monday, 1 June 2026. BPIP’s Chief Secretary Tonny Agung Arifianto said the final confirmations of their attendance would be provided on Saturday, 30 May 2026. Tonny explained that 405 people have been invited to the ceremony, including prominent figures and government officials. However, the general public cannot attend due to space constraints. President Prabowo Subianto will serve as the ceremony’s inspector. The 2026 Pancasila Day theme is ‘Pancasila Unites the Nation, Foundation of World Peace’. The theme underscores Pancasila’s relevance in preserving national unity and fostering global peace. ‘This year’s commemorative logo features our national emblem, Garuda Pancasila,’ said BPIP Chief Yudian Wahyudi. BPIP has issued Head of BPIP Circular No. 2 of 2026 on Guidelines for the 2026 Pancasila Day Commemoration. The circular urges all national institutions, ministries, TNI, Polri, local governments, educational institutions, and community groups to fly the Red and White Flag for the entire day of 1 June 2026.
