President Prabowo Subianto recently interacted with and even praised Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung during the inauguration of a new LRT route. The PDIP considers it natural for Prabowo to appreciate Pramono’s performance.

“Pramono Anung, after being elected and inaugurated as Governor of Jakarta, has chosen to work in silence, with well-planned and measurable strategies, supported by a team of technocrats who translate development ideas into programmes that meet the needs of the Jakarta community,” said PDIP politician Andreas Hugo Pareira when contacted on Wednesday (16/09/202<0xA0>26).

Andreas noted that Pramono’s work is beginning to be felt by the people of Jakarta, particularly regarding public transport and congestion management. Therefore, he stated, it is only fitting that Prabowo offers his appreciation.

“Governor Pram’s works are starting to be felt by the Jakarta community as he approaches his second year in office. Consequently, it is not wrong and is only right that President Prabowo gives appreciation to Pramono Anung,” he said.

Furthermore, Andreas assessed that Pramono has demonstrated his ability to work for the people, regardless of the competition faced during the elections. For this reason, Andreas believes Prabowo’s appreciation of Pramono’s performance is justified.

“Parties and candidates in presidential and regional elections compete during the election. Once elected, Pramono Anung has shown that this is the time to act and work for the people. I believe what the President expressed is an acknowledgement of the achievements made by Pramono Anung and Rano Karno in Jakarta,” he added.

As previously reported, Prabowo and Pramono interacted while travelling on the LRT train ahead of the inauguration of the Manggarai-Kelapa Gading LRT route. Prabowo was also seen listening to reports from Pramono during the journey.

On that occasion, Prabowo took the opportunity to praise Pramono, acknowledging him as a great governor.

“I think that is from me. Let’s not make the speech too long. In essence, congratulations and thank you, Governor. I must admit that if there is a great governor, I acknowledge his greatness. The Vice Governor, even though… even though he is not from my party,” said Prabowo, which was met with laughter from the invited guests.

For the record, the Jakarta LRT Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route spans 12.2 kilometres with 11 stations, including Kelapa Gading, Boulevard Utara, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, Velodrome, Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, Proklamasi, and Manggarai. Currently, the Jakarta LRT serves the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route with a flat fare of Rp 5,000 per trip.
