PDIP Politicians Agree with Prabowo: We Do Not Feel Separated
PDIP politician Guntur Romli has voiced agreement with President Prabowo Subianto’s statement regarding the political coalition, asserting that the party’s purpose is to defend the nation regardless of political position. “Agree with President Prabowo’s statement. The purpose of establishing PDI Perjuangan is to defend the nation and state, not dependent on political position, whether inside or outside the government,” Guntur Romli told reporters on Friday (24/7/2026).
Guntur Romli also responded to Prabowo’s remark that separation is not an issue as they will eventually reunite. He stated that PDIP has never felt separated from Prabowo. “On the principle of defending the nation and state, PDI Perjuangan does not feel separated from Mr Prabowo; regarding political position, it is merely a difference in stance, currently being outside the government,” he said.
On a separate occasion, PDIP DPP Chair Djarot Saiful Hidayat responded to Prabowo’s belief that PDIP will defend the country and nation. Djarot stressed that his party remains steadfast in upholding Pancasila and the economic development direction in accordance with Articles 33 and 34 of the 1945 Constitution. “Ideologically, PDI Perjuangan remains consistent in implementing Pancasila in the spirit of its birth on 1 June 1945 and the 1945 Constitution, including Articles 33 and 34 as conveyed by Mr Prabowo,” Djarot stated. He added that the economic development direction of Indonesia, as per Articles 33 and 34 of the 1945 Constitution, is an ideological choice that the goal of Indonesia’s independence is to realise a socialist Indonesian society.
Previously, Prabowo spoke about the condition of the political coalition in his administration era, including PDIP’s stance. Prabowo said that PDIP actually shares the same heart. “So, ladies and gentlemen, competing is good. Contesting is good. Sometimes we part ways, no problem. We will join again later,” Prabowo said during a speech at the 28th PKB Anniversary at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (23/7). “PDIP also actually has the same heart as us, really, try checking, dig into their hearts. It is actually the same,” he said. Prabowo brought up the constitution formulated by the nation’s founders, including Sukarno, who is synonymous with the party. He argued this proves his administration and PDIP are aligned in building the nation. “This 1945 Constitution was made by Bung Karno, Bung Hatta, our nation’s founders. Their hearts are the same,” he said. He also joked that PDIP just has not yet produced the results of an Ijtima Ulama agreement like PKB, one of his coalition parties.
