Several faction leaders in the House of Representatives have spoken out regarding the discourse on a cabinet reshuffle, or reshuffling, which has resurfaced in recent times.

DPR RI Chairman and PDIP DPP Chairman Puan Maharani emphasised that the reshuffle is entirely the president’s prerogative. She requested that the issue be directed straight to the Palace.

“It is the president’s prerogative; please ask the Palace,” said Puan at the parliamentary complex on Thursday (16/4).

Golkar Faction Chairman in the DPR, Muhammad Sarmuji, claimed he had not heard about the cabinet reshuffle discourse. However, Golkar, according to Sarmuji, leaves the matter entirely to the President.

“I don’t know; that’s the president’s authority. It will depend on the President reflecting, ‘Do I need a reshuffle or not?’, something like that,” he said.

Nevertheless, Sarmuji is convinced that his party’s General Chairman, Bahlil Lahadalia, will not be replaced if a reshuffle occurs. He praised Bahlil’s performance in maintaining national energy stocks amid the global energy crisis.

“Not all countries can do it, can secure energy resilience. And alhamdulillah, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Pak Bahlil has successfully secured energy supplies and, very importantly, kept fuel prices from rising,” he said.

Meanwhile, Democrat Party Faction Chairman Herman Khaeron stated that the reshuffle is entirely the president’s right. He believes President Prabowo Subianto has mature considerations in assessing his ministers’ performance.

“So, whether Mr President will carry out a reshuffle or not, and who he chooses, that’s his business,” he said.

The Palace side has not yet provided comments regarding the reshuffle issue.

President Prabowo Subianto today held a limited meeting with several close associates at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

The moment of the meeting was uploaded by Deputy Chairman of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco, via his personal Instagram account. Dasco attended the occasion along with State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono.

All three are close associates of Prabowo in the Gerindra Party. During the opportunity, Prabowo briefly spoke privately with Dasco.

Quoted from the upload’s caption, Dasco mentioned that the meeting discussed the national political, security, and economic situation. He also reported on the DPR’s legislative agenda.

“Received by President Prabowo Subianto to convey several developments in the national political, security, and economic situation, as well as to report some inputs from the DPR’s legislative function to the Government at Merdeka Palace, 16 April 2026,” wrote Dasco.
