PDIP Faction at Jakarta Regional House of Representatives Urges Acceleration of Pramono-Rano Development Programmes in Jakarta

JAKARTA – The PDIP (Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle) faction at the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives is pressing for acceleration of various development programmes under Governor Pramono Anung and Vice Governor Rano Karno to ensure that residents can benefit from capital development initiatives more swiftly.

Pantas Nainggolan, chair of the PDIP faction at the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives, stated that support from the legislative body and political parties is essential for expediting the regional government’s performance targets.

“This activity is aimed at encouraging an increase in the solidarity that has already been built. Solidarity among the pillars of the organisation with the executive and also with the structure of the legislative faction,” Pantas told Kompas.com on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

“We continue to improve and enhance the performance achievements we have already attained to date so that they can be increasingly beneficial to all members of society,” he added.

Pantas also emphasised the importance of synergy between the executive and legislative branches in addressing the various complex issues facing Jakarta.

He cautioned against halting development programmes when there is a change in leadership.

“So let us not repeat the mistakes of the past. Just because there is a change, the work that the current leader has done and is already showing results, suddenly a new leader takes over and that programme stops. That must not happen,” he said.

The statement was made during an event also attended by Pramono and Rano. The occasion was also marked by a thanksgiving ceremony for the opening of the PDIP faction’s new secretariat on the eighth floor of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives building.
