The Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Central Executive Board, Said Abdullah, has dismissed reports suggesting that Achmad Hidayat, a PDIP member from Surabaya, was expelled from the party for meeting Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), in Solo, Central Java. Said emphasised that Achmad Hidayat’s dismissal was purely caused by a series of serious violations within the internal organisation. However, he did not provide specific details regarding the nature of these violations.

“No one is dismissed for visiting Mr Jokowi. If he is now using the reason that he was dismissed because of a visit to Mr Jokowi’s house, that is simply how such people operate. What actually happened is that Achmad Hidayant committed too many violations which we have not disclosed to the public,” Said stated at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (14/9/2026).

Said assessed that the narrative constructed by Achmad Hidayat is the complete opposite of his actual track record in the field regarding instructions from the PDIP General Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri. According to him, there is a discrepancy between his social media persona and his actual actions.

“If we look at his Instagram record, he acts recklessly to defend Ibu Mega. However, his behaviour is far from the party’s concerns and Ibu Mega’s instructions,” Said asserted.

Furthermore, Said revealed that the serious violations committed by the former member have caused losses to various parties. He even encouraged those aggrieved by Achmad Hidayat’s actions to pursue legal action.

“There are civil and criminal matters. Therefore, we invite all parties who have fallen victim to Achmad Hidayat’s actions to report them to the Law Enforcement Agencies (APH),” he continued.

Said also stated that he is unconcerned by various visits by certain parties to Jokowi’s residence in Solo. He emphasised that currently, PDIP and Jokowi are no longer on the same political path.

“It is not just him visiting Mr Jokowi. People go back and forth to Mr Jokowi’s house every day, and we are indifferent to it. Wherever Mr Jokowi goes, we go elsewhere; our paths have diverged. Thus, there is no connection,” concluded Said.
