PDIP Convenes Regional Legislators Nationwide to Advocate for the Marhaen Class
The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of PDIP has commenced technical training (bimtek) for thousands of its cadres serving in regional legislative bodies (DPRD) across Indonesia. DPP PDIP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat stated the training aims to strengthen solidarity and bonds among legislative cadres. ‘This also builds bonding, connections, and strong collaboration between chairpersons, secretaries, and treasurers of regional (DPC) and provincial (DPD) party branches,’ Djarot said at the opening of the first training wave in Jakarta on Saturday (30 May). This year’s bimtek is being conducted in multiple waves by region. Previously, the training was held simultaneously in Jakarta. The first wave saw DPRD members from Jabodetabek, West Java, and Kalimantan attending. The next wave will take place in Bali for Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Bali. A subsequent wave for Sumatra will be held in Medan, North Sumatra, with remaining regions of Papua and Sulawesi to follow. ‘The final Region 6 will be conducted in Jayapura for all DPRD members and KSB in Papua,’ Djarot said. During the first training’s opening, PDIP also reintroduced its party song ‘Bung Karno Bapak Marhaenisme’. According to Djarot, the song’s revival aims to reignite the spirit of struggle and Marhaenist ideology while marking Bung Karno Month in June. ‘This song serves as a reminder for all, particularly newly sworn-in representatives, that PDIP’s core struggle is to stand with and fight for the interests of the common people or the Marhaen class,’ he said. Djarot added that the song will be played at all party events, alongside the PDIP march and hymn. ‘During all party protocol events, the ’Bung Karno Bapak Marhaenisme’ song must be sung,’ he said.
