PDIP Completes Study on Party Transformation and TNI Politics

Head of the Research and Policy Analysis Agency (Barak) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, Andi Widjajanto, stated that they have completed a strategic study on party transformation specifically for General Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri and the Central Executive Board (DPP) executives of PDIP. The party transformation study examines various general elections undergone by the party and their positive and negative impacts. “Then it is viewed from the perspective of ideology to structure, party infrastructure down to the branches,” said the former Lemhannas Governor in Central Jakarta on Monday, 6 April 2026. The study also incorporates variables such as social media and artificial intelligence (AI). All discussions aim to transform the party for the future. In addition to this study, Barak has also examined political reforms in Indonesia by looking at various election experiences. There is also a study on the current TNI military politics. He said the study was compiled for almost a year since he took office as Chairman of Barak PDI Perjuangan in July 2024. PDIP General Secretary Hasto Kristiyanto requested that the study be consolidated first for three days. It is planned that the consolidation will be held this month. In addition to the long-term strategic study, Andi said Megawati tasked him with creating dynamic studies. Most of the themes are related to geopolitics. Most recently, Barak is studying the deaths of three TNI soldiers in a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon to US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy.
