PDIP Central Leadership Council Expects Megawati to Attend Pancasila Day Commemoration

JAKARTA - PDIP Central Leadership Council Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat anticipates that PDIP Chairperson and BPIP Steering Committee Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri will attend the main event of the Pancasila Day Commemoration on 1 June 2026.

“Insha’Allah he will attend. Please pray that he has the time and opportunity to be there,” Djarot said in North Jakarta on Saturday.

He also stated that PDIP will hold a Pancasila Day ceremony at the party’s school in South Jakarta on 1 June. Therefore, he could not confirm Megawati’s attendance. “We’ll see tomorrow,” he said.

Previously, the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) announced that the national-level climax of the 2026 Pancasila Day Commemoration will take place on Monday, 1 June at 10:00 WIB at the Pancasila Building field in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta. The 2026 commemoration carries the theme “Pancasila: Unifier of the Nation, Foundation of World Peace”.

President Prabowo Subianto will attend in person and serve as the parade inspector. Additionally, the ceremony will be attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, former Presidents and Vice-Presidents, and national figures. BPIP also stated that participants and support personnel for the ceremony have been thoroughly prepared. The Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka) will use a “Pancasila Formation” comprising five groups representing the five principles of Pancasila.
