PDI Perjuangan in East Java Monitors Legal Status of Cadre in Tulungagung Regent Case

Tulungagung, East Java (ANTARA) - The PDI Perjuangan East Java branch is monitoring the legal developments of its cadre, Djatmiko Dwijo Seputro, a member of the Tulungagung DPRD, who was summoned as a witness by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in connection with an alleged extortion case involving the inactive Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo.

The Deputy Chairman of the Human Resources Division of the PDI Perjuangan East Java Provincial Board, Pulung Agustanto, stated in Tulungagung on Tuesday that the party has not yet taken any internal steps and has chosen to await the progress of the ongoing legal process.

“At present, we are monitoring the developments first, as his status is still that of a witness. We will see if there is any involvement in this case,” he said.

Djatmiko was previously summoned in the alleged extortion case that ensnares Gatut Sunu Wibowo, who is also his biological brother.

Pulung assessed that the law enforcement authorities’ actions have been thoroughly considered, so the party respects the running process.

“We appreciate the legal process carried out by the authorities. This also serves as a lesson for us internally within the party,” he stated.

In addition, the party plans to conduct an evaluation of Marsono, the Chairman of the Tulungagung DPRD, as part of the routine evaluation of cadres’ performance in legislative institutions.

“The evaluation is carried out to ensure that performance remains aligned with the party’s vision and mission,” he said.
