Direktur Utama Perumda Tirta Albantani, Eli Mulyadi, has stated that water discharge in the Serang region of Banten is currently declining. Meanwhile, the demand for clean water distribution from the community is beginning to increase.

Eli mentioned that his party has held a coordination meeting with the Banten Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and several related agencies to address the drought issue.

“How to handle the onset of this drought phenomenon which impacts the community, because the community is now requesting water assistance,” Eli said on Thursday (30/7/2026).

Eli explained that the local government has not yet determined a drought disaster emergency status. Nevertheless, the water utility will remain alert to assist areas in need.

“There are several areas that have officially requested assistance through village heads, sub-district heads, and even council members. Water aid has been deployed collectively by PDAM, yesterday BBWSC3 also deployed, BPBD and the Military District Command also participated in distributing water. We help first, because water is a basic need of the community,” he said.

He further explained that the raw water source at the Pamarayan Weir has experienced a decline. His party is currently seeking ways to ensure sufficient water supply during the dry season.

“Pamarayan and the surrounding areas are continuously monitored, the discharge is decreasing. Therefore, there needs to be an additional discharge from the Ciujung River, Cidurian, and others. The plan is that this will be assisted from Karian Barat,” he said.

Currently, Perumda Tirta Albantani is coordinating with the Cidanau-Ciujung-Cidurian River Basin Agency (BBWSC3) to increase water flow into the Ciujung and Cidurian areas.

“Assistance in opening water from Karian Barat has been carried out several times so that the water discharge increases. So, we have coordinated with BBWSC3 and PJDT so that the discharge in Ciujung and Cidurian can rise first,” he said.
