Disruptions to clean water services affected several areas in Buleleng Regency on Friday morning (27/3/2026). The incident was triggered by the bursting of an 8-inch diameter main pipe belonging to the Regional Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Hita Buleleng after it was hit by heavy equipment, specifically an excavator, in the Titik Nol area.

The areas impacted by the burst water distribution pipe include Banjar Tegal, Jalan Veteran, Jalan Pahlawan, Jalan Parikesit, and several surrounding areas.

The Director of PDAM Tirta Hita Buleleng, I Made Lestariana, confirmed the incident. He assured that technical teams have been deployed to address the damage swiftly.

“We received a report of the 8-inch main pipe bursting due to being hit by an excavator at Titik Nol. Currently, the distribution team is at the location and carrying out intensive repairs,” he stated.

He explained that, in addition to causing distribution disruptions, the pipe damage also has the potential to affect the quality of water received by customers, particularly in directly affected areas.

“We apologise to customers for this disruption, including the possibility of changes in water quality during the repair process,” he added.

Residents began voicing complaints. One customer in Banjar Tegal Ward, Kardian, claimed that the water flowing to his home since morning was turbid.

“The PDAM water around Jalan Parikesit, Banjar Tegal, is murky,” he said.

As of now, the repair process is still ongoing. PDAM Buleleng targets for water distribution to return to normal after the handling is completed, while also ensuring the water quality is once again suitable for public use.
