PDAM Bekasi ready to supply water

BEKASI: Deputy Mayor Solihin Sari said on Thursday the
municipality's tap water operator, PDAM, would provide water for
residents who could no longer rely on their wells due to drought.

However, he was quoted as saying by Antara there was only
enough water for household necessities, so residents had to use
the water wisely.

"I have instructed the relevant officials to monitor the
condition of the residents' groundwater wells ... we will
immediately send the water trucks," he said.

As with other parts of Greater Jakarta, eastern Bekasi is
facing sever water shortages, which also threaten rice crops. --
