PCMB 2026 Inspection Turns Heated, Dedi Mulyadi Sacks West Java Education Agency's Tikomdik Head

The decision by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to deactivate Suhendar, Head of the Technical Implementation Unit for Information and Communication Technology in Education (Tikomdik) at the West Java Education Agency, remains a topic of public discussion. The firm action was taken after the implementation of the 2026 Prospective New Student Mapping (PCMB) was flooded with public complaints due to various technical obstacles that emerged during the process. Behind the decision, a video circulated showing the moment Dedi Mulyadi conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) at the West Java Education Agency. In the video, the governor, familiarly known as KDM, is seen questioning in detail the parties responsible for the PCMB application used in the new student admission process. The inspection was carried out after many parents and prospective students complained about problems with the system. The complaints that arose were not only related to service access but also concerned data validity and a registration mechanism that was deemed to cause confusion among the public. While tracing the source of the problem, KDM appeared to try to find out who held control over the application used in the PCMB. The question was posed directly to the team at the location. ‘I ask, who holds this application?’ KDM asked, as quoted from the Instagram account bapa_aing17 on Thursday, 11 June 2026. The question was then answered by a man who claimed to be the super admin and part of the technical team handling the PCMB system. ‘The education agency holds it, sir, the technician working on it is me. So I am the super admin, sir,’ replied the man who claimed to be the super admin or IT team member for PCMB. However, that answer apparently did not satisfy what KDM wanted to know. He then questioned again the position and authority of the party managing the system. ‘Super admin from where? I know from the education agency, what I mean is, were you assigned directly by the application owner?’ KDM retorted, beginning to look annoyed. The conversation then led to more specific questions regarding the application developer or vendor. According to KDM, knowing the vendor was important considering the application was under scrutiny due to various problems that occurred during the PCMB implementation.
