PCL Partners with Sinar Primera to Develop Cold Storage Infrastructure in Indonesia

Peregrine Cold Logistics (PCL), an Asian cold storage and logistics platform, has announced its expansion into Indonesia through a joint venture with Sinar Primera to develop world-standard infrastructure in the country.

“Our expansion into Indonesia is a significant milestone in Peregrine’s strategy to build an integrated international cold chain platform,” said Jeff Hogarth, Co-Founder and CEO of Peregram Cold Logistics, in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday (1/9/2026).

The partnership will focus on the acquisition and development of high-standard cold storage assets in Indonesia. The initial phase of the cooperation includes the acquisition of Sinar Primera’s operational cold storage facility in Pluit, as well as land development for a new facility in Narogong.

This collaboration represents a further step in Peregrine’s expansion, complementing the company’s existing cold chain platform in the Philippines and an integrated network connecting high-growth markets within the ASEAN and GCC regions.

The company’s entry into Indonesia, the largest economy in Southeast Asia, is seen as aligned with the increasing demand for modern, global-standard cold chain infrastructure. According to Hogarth, rising household incomes, urbanisation, and developments in the food and retail sectors are driving the need for cold storage capacity capable of meeting international standards.

Indonesia is also projected to play a vital role in Peregrine’s regional network. Through this network, food producers, importers, exporters, FMCG companies, and quick-service restaurant (QSR) chains can be connected within a more integrated supply chain ecosystem across various regions of Indonesia.

“Our goal is not merely to increase cold storage capacity in Indonesia, but also to connect the Indonesian market with the broader ASEAN and GCC networks,” he added.

Sinar Primera Group Head, Hong Kah Jin, stated that by combining proven expertise in the cold chain sector with an extensive international client network, the company is confident in its ability to provide high-quality infrastructure.

“Together, we are committed to meeting the growing demand for temperature-controlled infrastructure in Indonesia, in line with government policies to strengthen national food security,” he said.
