Chairul loses bet
JAKARTA: Chairman of the Badminton Association of
Indonesia (PBSI) Chairul Tanjung lost his bet of Rp 20,000
(US$2.22) to a group of international journalists over the Thomas
Cup quarterfinals match between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Chairul placed his money on Indonesia winning the match with a
3-0 score.
In fact, Lee Wan Wah and Choong Tan Fook won their doubles
over Luluk Hadiyanto and Alven Yulianto to give the Malaysian
team a point, thus denying Chairul's predicted score. --JP
