PBNU Verifies NTB's Readiness to Host 2026 NU Congress
The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) is inspecting the readiness of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) as a candidate to host the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress in 2026. A member of the NU Congress Location Verification and Survey Team, Prof. Asrorun Ni’am, stated that the assessment process for NTB’s readiness has entered the field survey and verification stage, taking place on 4-5 July 2026. “This visit is to assess NTB’s readiness to host the Congress, which will be attended by more than 10,000 participants,” he said on Sunday (5/7/2026). He explained that four assessment criteria have been established: the readiness and suitability of facilities and infrastructure, financial support for the event, security aspects, and the spiritual aspect of the candidate host region. Asrorun revealed that three locations have been designated by the NTB Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU NTB): the Komarul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Bagu, the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School, and the Islahuddiny Islamic Boarding School. These three locations will be the objects of direct inspection to assess readiness based on the four established aspects. “NTB is expected to meet all the requirements as per the proposal that has been officially submitted to PBNU,” said Asrorun, who is also the General Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Nahdlatul Ulama Students’ Association (IPNU).
