PBNU Finalises Preparations for NU's 35th Congress in August 2026
Preparations for the 35th NU Congress are progressing and now entering the finalisation stage. Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) is continuing to finalise preparations for the 35th Congress of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), scheduled to take place in August 2026. “Preparations for the 35th NU Congress are ongoing and now entering the finalisation stage,” said PBNU General Secretary Saifullah Yusuf, commonly known as Gus Ipul, in Bandarlampung on Sunday. Gus Ipul stated that, in the lead-up to the NU Congress, a small committee has already been formed and is currently completing various technical needs for the event’s organisation. “Preparations are continuing. The small committee has been formed and is finalising the necessary committee structure for the Congress implementation,” said Gus Ipul, who is also the Chairman of the 35th NU Congress Organising Committee. To accelerate this process, he added, PBNU has established a panel team chaired by Muhammad Nuh. “The panel team is responsible for verifying and finalising the decrees so that all participants have valid legitimacy before the congress takes place,” he said. Meanwhile, PBNU Chairman for Education and Law, Moh Mukri, stated that the panel team is also conducting verification and review of the organisation’s internal dynamics. “This includes aligning previous decisions to ensure the entire process runs conducive,” he said. “Insya Allah, the congress will be held from 1 to 5 August, while the location is still under discussion and will be further consulted with the leadership,” said Gus Ipul.
