REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) will distribute over one ton of Limousin Qurban cattle. The sacrificial animals are provided by Shopee Barokah through NU Care-Lazisnu and will be distributed to the community around Al Manar Azhari Islamic Boarding School in Depok, West Java. The Limousin cattle, weighing over one ton, were received during a ceremonial handover attended by PBNU NU Care-Lazisnu Executive Director Riri Khariroh, PBNU Deputy Secretary-General H Ahmad Ginanjar Syaban, and Shopee Indonesia Director of Public Policy Radityo Triatmojo at PBNU’s Jakarta office on Tuesday (26/05/2026). ‘Alhamdulillah, this is not the first time we have been entrusted by Shopee Barokah to distribute Qurban animals. I hope the collaboration between NU Care-Lazisnu and Shopee Barokah continues to thrive and provide tangible benefits for the Indonesian people,’ said Ginanjar. PBNU NU Care-Lazisnu Executive Director Riri Khariroh stated that the Qurban collaboration with Shopee Barokah is a form of solidarity towards the Indonesian community, particularly those in need. She said the initiative serves as an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and social connections within the community. ‘Insha Allah, the results of this Qurban will help our fellow citizens in need, especially in 3T regions and areas affected by natural disasters,’ said Riri. She also noted that the slaughter of the Limousin cattle will take place at Al Manar Azhari Islamic Boarding School in Depok, a long-standing institution with a strong historical connection to the local community. She explained that the boarding school is one of the oldest institutions within Nahdlatul Ulama and has produced thousands of exemplary students. ‘The school actively supports various social activities, forging a special bond with the surrounding community,’ Riri added.
