PBNU Chairman Declares NU Members' Loyalty to Nation Before Prabowo

Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf has emphasised that NU members are loyal citizens ready to fight for the interests of the nation and state. The statement was delivered in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto at the closing of the Alim Ulama National Conference and the Nahdlatul Ulama Grand Conference 2026 at the Sayyidina Kholil Islamic Institute in Bangkalan, East Java, on Tuesday. In his address, Gus Yahya expressed profound gratitude for President Prabowo’s attendance at the closing ceremony. He noted that the head of state’s presence completed the happiness of the extended NU family after successfully concluding all strategic consultation agendas leading up to the 35th NU Congress. ‘This completes our happiness after successfully finishing the entire task of implementing the National Conference and Grand Conference, which is the most strategic consultation heading towards the 35th Congress, which God willing, we will hold from 1 to 5 August,’ Gus Yahya stated. He also sought prayers and blessings so that Nahdlatul Ulama can continue to safeguard, preserve, and maintain the nation and state. In front of President Prabowo, Gus Yahya asserted that the clerics, leaders, cadres, and millions of NU members hold deep affection for the nation’s leaders and maintain optimism for Indonesia’s future.
