PBNU Announces 501 Branches in Provisional Voter List for 35th NU Congress

The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) has designated 501 regional, branch, and special branch administrations as the Phase I Provisional Voter List (DPS) for the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress, which will be held at the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang Regency, East Java. PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf stated in Jombang on Monday that the determination of the Phase I DPS on 1 August 2026 is part of the membership verification process ahead of the 35th NU Congress, scheduled to take place from 27 to 31 August 2026. “Based on the announcement dated 1 August 2026, a total of 501 NU administrations are included in the Phase I DPS,” said Saifullah Yusuf following a PBNU coordination meeting with the local committee at the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School. According to him, the list was compiled based on an update of administrative data up to 31 July 2026. “There are still several other Regional NU Boards (PWNU) currently in the process. After 15 August 2026, the final list of participants will be determined,” he said. PBNU is currently still verifying and scrutinising the membership data. The results will serve as the basis for determining the Phase II DPS, scheduled for 7 August 2026, before it is finalised as the Final Voter List (DPT). Saifullah stated that the number of participants could potentially increase as regional and branch boards continue to complete the administrative requirements to participate in the congress. “PBNU wants to ensure that the entire process is conducted openly and in accordance with organisational regulations so that there is no doubt regarding the membership,” said Saifullah.
