PBNU Accelerates Preparations for 35th NU Congress
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Ulil Abshar Abdalla said the committee is continuing to accelerate preparations for the 35th NU Congress to ensure it runs smoothly, with a number of key requirements already completed.
“Congress preparations are ongoing. There are still some things to be done, but preparations are progressing well,” said Ulil in Jakarta on Thursday.
Ulil said the congress materials have been prepared, while all Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Boards (PCNU) and Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Boards (PWNU) have also made preparations to attend the forum.
According to Ulil, all matters relating to participation decrees (SK) have also been completed, so it is hoped that the 35th NU Congress can take place successfully.
“God willing, this congress will run successfully. There will certainly be dynamics and developments, but that is normal in every NU congress,” he said.
He said the presence of supporters is part of the festivity of every NU congress. According to him, the congress is not only an organisational forum, but also a moment eagerly awaited by members of Nahdlatul Ulama.
“Every NU Congress is a festival, a joy for Nahdlatul Ulama members to enliven this event,” he said.
In addition to the main congress agenda, the committee has also prepared various supporting activities or side events. These include an open stage, a cultural stage, book discussions, and a halal product exhibition.
Various services for participants have also been prepared to support comfort during the congress. The series of events for the 35th NU Congress is scheduled to open on the evening of 27 August and close on 31 August at Pondok Pesantren Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java.
