The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) has stated that the 2026 NU Congress will be held from 1-5 August 2026, with the location still to be decided following the National Conference and Grand Conference (Munas dan Konbes) NU at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri.

M Nuh, Secretary of the Steering Committee for the 2026 Munas and Konbes NU, said in Kediri on Monday that the Munas and Konbes are part of a series leading up to the Congress. He confirmed that the Congress dates have been set, but the location remains under discussion, with proposals including West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Java, West Java, and West Sumatra. A special meeting will be held to assess the feasibility of the proposed locations, considering aspects such as infrastructure, security, finances, and spiritual suitability.

He emphasised that the theme of the Congress will focus on safeguarding the dignity of NU and enriching its service to the community and nation. The Munas and Konbes NU 2026 is being held at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri from 20-22 June 2026, attended by the PBNU board, regional NU boards from across Indonesia, and hundreds of NU sympathisers. The closing ceremony is scheduled to take place in Bangkalan on Tuesday, with President Prabowo Subianto expected to attend.
