PBNU 2026-2031 Structure Revealed, Gus Miftah Included in Board of Chairmen

The Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) has announced the management structure for the 2026-2031 term of service. In this new structure, the name of preacher Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman, commonly known as Gus Miftah, is recorded as one of the Chairmen of PBNU.

The new management structure consists of 210 names drawn from various elements within the Nahdlatul Ulama environment. This composition includes several generations and autonomous bodies of the organisation, including Ansor, IPNU, and IPPNU.

Gus Miftah is known as both a preacher and the caretaker of the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School. His involvement in the PBNU 2026-2031 management places him within the leadership ranks of the organisation for the upcoming five-year period.

In addition to Gus Miftah, the new PBNU structure also involves several figures from various backgrounds and age groups. The Chairman of PBNU, KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, also known as Gus Kikin, stated that the formation of the management was carried out considering generational equality.

“This is intended to ensure equality. Equality across all ranks, from the early generations to the latest,” Gus Kikin wrote in an official press release on Thursday (1/10/2026).

According to Gus Kikin, elements from various autonomous bodies within the Nahdlatul Ulama environment were also taken into account during the formation of the management. This was done to ensure that representation between organisational elements remains balanced.

“Furthermore, from all the various institutions within the Nahdlatul Ulama environment, such as IPNU, IPPNU, and Ansor, we have balanced them so that all three elements, along with other elements, are roughly balanced,” said Gus Kikin.

Gus Miftah’s inclusion in the ranks of the PBNU Chairmen is part of the organisation’s new composition. He has long been widely known through his preaching activities and his leadership at the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School.

In the 2026-2031 management structure, Gus Miftah will now carry out organisational roles at the central level alongside other PBNU officials. This structure will serve as the framework driving the operations of Nahdlatul Ulama throughout the five-year term.
