PB PMII Hopes New HIPMI Chairman Will Be Open to Cipayung Activists

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Executive Board of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PB PMII) hopes that the newly elected Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), Ade Jona, will be more adaptive and open the door wide for collaboration with activist groups and young cadres of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). “We encourage HIPMI to be much more open in the future, especially for Cipayung activists and young NU cadres who are currently transforming into young entrepreneurs,” said PB PMII Secretary-General Ahmad Syahrul Fadhil in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. PB PMII hopes that the momentum of Ade Jona Prasetyo’s election will become a new, inclusive chapter, where HIPMI is not just an ivory tower but a shared home for all elements of young entrepreneurs from various backgrounds to realise national economic independence. “The synergy between a critical activist mentality and entrepreneurship will give birth to great innovations for the nation,” he said. Meanwhile, PB PMII Chairman Mohammad Shofiyulloh Cokro personally congratulated Ade Jona on his victory. According to him, future economic dynamics require a robust, visionary leader with an inclusive network. “We at PB PMII see Ade Jona as the most suitable figure to lead HIPMI at this time. His track record and commitment in the business world are beyond doubt,” he said. He expressed confidence that under Ade Jona’s leadership, HIPMI can become a catalyst for robust economic growth among the younger generation.
