The Executive Board of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PB PMII) has officially expressed its appreciation and full support for the election of Ade Jona Prasetyo as Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) for the 2026-2029 term. This endorsement carries high hopes for the creation of a more inclusive young entrepreneur ecosystem at the national level.

PB PMII Chairman Mohammad Shofiyulloh Cokro assessed Ade Jona as the most suitable figure to lead HIPMI amid increasingly complex global economic challenges. He stated that Ade Jona’s track record in the business world provides a strong foundation to transform the organisation into a catalyst for economic growth among the younger generation.

“We see our colleague Ade Jona Prasetyo as the most fitting person to helm HIPMI at this time. Future economic dynamics require a leader who is resilient, visionary, and possesses an inclusive network. His commitment in the business world is already proven,” Shofiyulloh said in an official statement on Friday (12/6).

Beyond offering congratulations, PB PMII also conveyed strategic messages regarding HIPMI’s future policy direction. PB PMII Secretary-General Ahmad Syahrul Fadhil stressed the importance of HIPMI opening doors for collaboration with activist groups, particularly young cadres of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Cipayung activists.

Syahrul expressed hope that HIPMI under Ade Jona’s command would not become an exclusive “ivory tower,” but rather a shared home for young people transitioning into entrepreneurs. “The potential of Cipayung activists and young NU cadres is enormous. Synergy between the critical mentality of activists and the world of entrepreneurship will give birth to great innovations for the nation. We encourage HIPMI to be more adaptive and open to this potential,” Syahrul asserted.

With this new leadership, PB PMII is optimistic that a new chapter in national business will emerge, one that is more equitable, where economic independence is not enjoyed by only a few parties but becomes a collective movement of all young entrepreneurs from various backgrounds.
