PB MA Chairman Affirms Commitment to Strengthen Education and Dakwah

Bandung (ANTARA) - General Chairman of the Central Board (PB) of Mathla’ul Anwar (MA), Jazuli Juwaini, has affirmed his organisation’s commitment to strengthening its role in education, dakwah, social affairs, and nation-building through its 2026–2031 term of service. During the inauguration of the Mathla’ul Anwar Central Board at Gedung Pakuan, Bandung, on Sunday, Jazuli stated that the new board would focus on several strategic agendas. These agendas include transforming organisational governance to be more professional, modern, and accountable, improving the quality of education, strengthening cadre development, and expanding contributions to the development of the community, nation, and state. “Know that the pledge recited earlier is not merely ceremonial, but represents a strong determination and commitment to the mandate of struggle before Allah, the organisation, the community, and the nation,” he said. Jazuli expressed appreciation to all newly inaugurated board members and invited them to carry out the organisation’s mandate with full responsibility for the progress of the community and the nation. He stressed the importance of preserving Mathla’ul Anwar’s identity as an Islamic organisation that, since its founding, has consistently adhered to the Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah creed and upheld three main missions: education, dakwah, and social welfare. According to him, in the field of education, Mathla’ul Anwar continues to strive to improve the quality of its educational institutions to produce a generation that is character-driven, competent, and able to compete at both national and global levels. Meanwhile, in the field of dakwah, the organisation is committed to spreading the values of Islam rahmatan lil ’alamin, which bring peace and benefit to society through a wise and prudent approach. “In the social field, since its inception, Mathla’ul Anwar has instilled values of social awareness and concern, as well as respect for the social institutions that develop within society,” he stated. Furthermore, Jazuli affirmed the organisation’s commitment to maintaining the unity of the community, humanity, and the nation by strengthening ukhuwah Islamiyah, ukhuwah insaniyah, and ukhuwah wathaniyah. According to him, unity is a crucial asset for realising a dignified community while supporting the creation of a strong and respected nation. He also confirmed Mathla’ul Anwar’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with the government and various elements of society in supporting national development. “Let us make this mandate a field of service and struggle for the progress of the community, nation, and state, and strengthen Mathla’ul Anwar’s role in realising an advanced, just, and dignified Indonesia,” he said. ANTARA’s research notes that Mathla’ul Anwar is one of the oldest and largest Islamic mass organisations in Indonesia. Founded on 10 July 1916 in Menes, Pandeglang, Banten, the organisation was established by prominent ulama such as KH. Mas Abdurrahman and other kiai. Currently, Mathla’ul Anwar reportedly has around 10 million members. Its board and member networks are widely spread across more than 32 to 33 provinces throughout Indonesia and encompass over 2,000 educational units in various regions of the country.
