The payment system industry is strengthening collaboration to face the acceleration of digital transformation while anticipating increased cyber security risks and increasingly complex technological developments. This emerged during the Prima Executive Gathering (PEG) 2026 held by PT Rintis Sejahtera (RINTIS), the manager of the PRIMA switching network, in Nusa Dua, Bali.

President Director of RINTIS Abraham J Adriaansz stated that amid rapid technological advancement, the payment system industry cannot solely focus on improving current performance but must also build resilience against future challenges. He noted that threats such as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) require adaptive capabilities and collective preparedness from all stakeholders.

Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta said Indonesia’s digital transaction growth is projected to accelerate significantly in the coming years, with the digital economy expected to increase approximately fourfold by 2030 compared to current levels. However, she cautioned that this digital acceleration is accompanied by challenges including rising cyber risks, low digital literacy, fraud, consumer protection issues, and rampant illegal transactions.

Filianingsih welcomed the gathering as a platform to strengthen synergy and collaboration across the entire payment system ecosystem. She stressed the importance of building a resilient, secure, and integrated payment infrastructure to support sustainable economic growth.

Themed ‘Beyond Tomorrow: Securing Progress, Accelerating in Unity’, the event discussed the implementation of AI in the financial services sector, noting that its adoption requires not only advanced technology but also robust governance, data quality, security, and infrastructure modernisation. Participants also addressed the acceleration of digital transformation, risk management, interoperability of payment systems such as the QRIS standard, handling of cyber fraud, and compliance with the National Open API Payment Standard (SNAP).

During the same event, RINTIS and Infobank Research Bureau presented the Prima Awards 2026 to 30 PRIMA Network partners based on their transaction performance from June 2025 to May 2026. The gathering also featured the Prima Nusantara Hub, showcasing SME products fostered by regional banks, which could be purchased using digital payments. Infobank Media Group Chairman Eko B Supriyanto remarked that strengthening the national payment system requires ongoing commitment from all industry players.
