Payment of 'fiskal'

Payment of 'fiskal'

From Kompas

At 1:30 p.m. on May 30 I paid my fiskal (tax imposed on people
going abroad) at Terminal E of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

In view of the large amount -- Rp 1,000,000 -- I hoped the
official in charge would complete the fiskal receipt which would
facilitate settlement at the tax office. I had prepared the
pertinent data in block letters to facilitate the official while
he performed the duty.

What happened? The official only wrote down my name, address
and passport number. I asked him to enter the name of the company
where I work. He only added its tax number. I requested him again
to fill out the other data I had prepared, i.e. the company's
name and address. The official wrote down the name very
reluctantly. He still did not fill in the address. He did it only
after I wanted to write it down myself.

The high value of the fiskal requires the Directorate of Taxes
to improve its administration to guarantee that there is no
prejudice against the taxpayer. In order to avoid the increasing
number of disappointed taxpayers, must the fiskal receipt be
filled out completely in accordance with the printed columns of
the receipt form in order that it is clear proof of an income tax
that has been paid in advance?
