The use of digital financing services, or paylater, continues to rise in line with the public’s expanding access to formal financial services. Amid this trend, the public is reminded to choose paylater services that are licensed and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to maintain transaction security and consumer protection. Based on the 2025 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) released by the OJK together with Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Indonesia’s financial inclusion index reached 80.51 percent. This achievement shows that more people have access to various financial services, including digital financing. Director of PT Commerce Finance Anggie Setia Ariningsih said digital financing services have become an alternative that makes it easier for the public to meet their transaction needs. According to her, the development of the digital economy has also driven the increasing need for easily accessible financial services. “As the financial needs of the public and the digital economy in Indonesia develop, digital financing services have an increasingly important role in expanding access to easy, safe, and responsible financial solutions,” Anggie said in a statement on Tuesday (14/7/2026). Anggie said the growth of digital financing services must be balanced with strengthening consumer protection, personal data security, and the application of responsible financing principles so that the benefits can be felt sustainably. She urged the public to ensure that the paylater services they use are licensed and supervised by the OJK. In addition, users also need to understand the costs and terms of financing, maintain the security of personal data, and utilise financing facilities according to their ability to pay. According to Anggie, the ease of the digital application process and service management makes digital financing increasingly attractive to the public. However, wise use remains key so that the service truly helps with financial needs, rather than adding a burden in the future. As a digital financing service provider, SPayLater stated that technological innovation, improved financial literacy, and strengthened consumer protection are important factors in encouraging an inclusive and sustainable digital financial services ecosystem. SPayLater’s commitment to presenting innovation and a better user experience was recognised through the Best PayLater Service award in the Financial Solution, Retail, and Education category at the Selular Award 2026.
