Paying Vehicle Taxes in Bekasi Now Easier, BPKB Not Required to be Brought
Bekasi residents no longer have to bring the BPKB when paying their annual vehicle tax. The policy, announced by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, aims to streamline tax services. Dani Hendrato, head of the Regional Revenue Processing Centre Samsat Kota Bekasi, said the policy had been socialised and implemented at Samsat offices. ‘We have socialised this. But Bekasi residents are used to bringing the BPKB,’ he told Kompas.com at the Samsat Kota Bekasi office on Friday, 6 March 2026. ‘The policy makes service easier, especially at the Samsat Keliling (mobile Samsat) or during Car Free Day. ’If people are exercising, they cannot bring the BPKB; now they only need to bring the STNK and KTP,’ he added. Although, he noted the number of residents paying taxes at Samsat Bekasi Timur remains normal. Some residents also use online services via the Signal app or Samsat Digital Nasional, with around 300-350 online payments per day. ‘This is very good because it helps the residents,’ Ayudia, 32, said of the rule. Dedi Mulyadi had earlier stated that the policy would apply from Tuesday, 3 March 2026, for residents of Depok, Kota Bekasi, and Kabupaten Bekasi. He said he hoped tax services would be faster and more convenient for the public.
