Pavilion Apartment Fire in Central Jakarta: 115 Personnel Deployed, 14 People Evacuated
Firefighting officers successfully carried out the temporary evacuation of 14 people during a fire incident that struck the fifth floor of the Pavilion Apartment, located on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Friday (4/9).
According to data from the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) Command Centre, the fire report was received from the public at 11:23 WIB. Officers responded swiftly, arriving at the location at 11:29 WIB and commencing firefighting operations one minute later.
The fire, which burned through a cable shaft on the fifth floor of the building, was successfully contained by officers at 11:36 WIB.
To manage the incident, 23 fire engines with a total of 115 personnel were deployed to the site. The strength of the personnel was a combination from various regions.
“The process of sweeping and evacuating victims trapped inside is ongoing,” wrote the official statement from the Jakarta Gulkarmat Command Centre in the incident report.
As of the time of this report, officers are still conducting sweeps of the building area to ensure no other residents are left behind or trapped. The incident status is currently in the process of being localised.
Regarding the exact cause of the fire and the total number of affected victims, authorities stated that data collection is still underway. Field officers continue to carry out follow-up handling until the situation is declared completely safe and the firefighting operation is fully completed.
