The paving blocks of a pavement on Jalan Jampea, Koja, North Jakarta, which were dismantled by unidentified persons, have been repaired.

The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, via its Instagram account @binamargadki, stated that its officers had inspected the pavement located on Jalan Jampea, Koja District. They confirmed that the damage to the pavement has been repaired.

“The Task Force Team from the North Jakarta Administrative City Bina Marga Sub-agency has carried out repairs to the paving block pavement damaged by the act of vandalism,” said Bina Marga DKI on Thursday (11/6/2026).

However, the Bina Marga Agency confirmed that no road infrastructure assets were missing as a result of the vandalism that damaged the pavement. Bina Marga has relocated the public street lighting (PJU) cable route.

“The public street lighting (PJU) electrical cables, previously buried underground, have been replaced with an overhead cable network,” the agency stated.

Bina Marga explained that the relocation was an anticipatory measure taken following a previous act of vandalism at the same location that resulted in the loss of PJU electrical cables buried under the paving block pavement.

A video previously circulated showing the condition of the concrete block pavement on Jalan Jampea, Koja, in a dismantled state. Reports emerged that the pavement was dug up due to an attempt to steal PJU cables.

The alleged attempt to steal the PJU cables is thought to have occurred on Tuesday morning (9/6). This case of attempted streetlight cable theft by dismantling the pavement is not the first to have occurred.

The theft case was reported by netizens to local authorities. The Koja District Satpol PP team visited Jalan Jampea, Koja.

Officers found the concrete blocks on the pavement in a dismantled state. The Koja Satpol PP then coordinated with Bina Marga for repairs.

“To restore public facilities for the comfort and safety of road users, this finding was immediately coordinated with the Bina Marga Implementing Unit for Koja District for prompt follow-up,” said Satpol PP on Tuesday (9/6).
