The extradition process for Paulus Tannos, the suspect in the e-KTP corruption case, has yet to be completed. Paulus Tannos remains in Singapore and has not yet been repatriated to Indonesia.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the extradition process for Paulus Tannos is still underway. He assured that the KPK is actively and continuously monitoring every development in the extradition process.

“So, the extradition process for Mr PT, as the suspect and fugitive in the KPK case, is indeed still progressing, and up to now, the progress has been positive,” Budi clarified to reporters at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (11/5/2026).

“The KPK is actively working with the Ministry of Law as the Indonesian Government’s liaison officer for handling the return or extradition process of Mr PT from Singapore,” he continued.

In addition, Budi stated that the KPK is intensively and continuously exchanging letters with the authorities in Singapore handling the extradition process. Nevertheless, he noted that this extradition process does indeed require a long time.

“Of course, this is a fairly lengthy process, and we are continuously monitoring it, actively coordinating, and we hope everything can proceed effectively so that we can bring Mr PT back as the suspect and fugitive in the case being handled by the KPK, allowing us to continue the legal process,” he concluded.

Regarding the extradition process for Paulus Tannos, the last update from the KPK was when the Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs (Jamdatun), R Narendra Jatna, failed to appear as an expert witness in Paulus Tannos’s extradition hearing in Singapore. However, at that time, the KPK expressed continued optimism that Paulus Tannos could still be repatriated to Indonesia.

Budi revealed at the time that Jamdatun Narendra Jatna was not presented in person because he had submitted a legal opinion since early December 2025. The legal opinion provided by Jamdatun aligned with the testimony of the expert witness submitted by Paulus Tannos.

“The KPK presented Mr Jamdatun to explain the construction of bribery. Where bribery falls into the construction of PMH, yes, unlawful acts. Because Paulus Tannos is charged under Article 2, Article 3, causing losses to state finances,” Budi said to reporters at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (10/2).

“And that is relevant to what was stated by the expert from Paulus Tannos’s side, so the affidavit was also sent yesterday. So indeed, because the explanations are the same, the affidavit was still submitted, meaning it is firm, the explanations are relevant, both from the KPK side and from Paulus Tannos’s side, regarding explaining bribery, including unlawful acts,” he elaborated.

Budi said the KPK is currently awaiting the possibility of Paulus Tannos presenting other expert witnesses. The decision on Paulus Tannos’s extradition hearing is scheduled to be handed down by the judge in three months’ time.

“Yes, for the first decision, perhaps around three months. But in the first decision, appeals are still possible, for example. Well, but appeals are just formal processes, no more proof or evidence,” he said.

According to Budi, the KPK is optimistic about bringing Paulus Tannos back to Indonesia. He stated that all extradition documents for Paulus Tannos have been submitted by the Indonesian government to the Singaporean court.

“The KPK is of course optimistic that this extradition process can proceed smoothly and that the legal process against Paulus Tannos can soon be continued at the KPK. We have received a lot of support from the Indonesian Government, through the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the Attorney General’s Office, and colleagues at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore who are fully supporting the process and every stage of Paulus Tannos’s extradition,” Budi remarked.

Paulus Tannos is a suspect in the e-KTP corruption case. He had been a fugitive since 2021 and was arrested in Singapore in January 2025. Paulus Tannos is currently undergoing an extradition hearing in Singapore before being repatriated to the homeland.
